Our central kitchen prepares more than 950 meals and snacks per day for our seven sites.

Through our Food Program, preschool children receive a nutritious breakfast or lunch. Children in childcare (full-day) receive breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. Infants receive formula as needed. For many, these meals and snacks are the most nutritious part of their diet.

We serve meals family-style in small groups led by the teacher. Self-feeding, especially for infants, is a tactile and messy experience. Our teachers understand that this is an important phase of learning, and are patient with the children, as they explore and learn. We also teach children about good nutrition and appropriate eating habits.

Young Horizons Child Development Centers is a sponsor of the “Child and Adult Care Food Program.” All children in attendance are offered the same meals at no separate charge with no physical segregation or other discrimination against any child because of race, color, national origin, age, sex or handicap.
